Foster Care Connect heads to Business Breakfast

On Wednesday 7th November Karen attended a Business Breakfast to mark Living Wage Week 2018. The meeting was well attended by local businesses from across the Borders with representatives from Scottish Borders Council, Eildon Housing, Berwickshire Housing and Developing the Young Workforce to name but a few. The meeting was hosted by the Border Living Wage Group which is quite newly formed and supported by Local Councillors. As well as short presentations from Iain Russell from Living Wage Scotland and Eildon Housing there was also a talk from MSP Jamie Hepburn with his views on a real living wage, now and in the future. It was refreshing to hear that there over 1300 accredited employers in Scotland (of which FCC is one) and that 16 out of the 32 Local Authorities are now accredited. Foster Care Connect became an accredited Living Wage employer in 2016.
