young people

Welcome to the Young People area of our website.

If you are a child or young person who is supported by Foster Care Connect or a child or young person who belongs to a fostering family you might find the following guide useful:

We know how important it is for you to stay connected and the internet is a great way of allowing you to do that.  We believe that it is important that we help to keep you safe in that process and you may wish to look at some of the information on the CEOP’s Thinkuknow website.

In Scotland, 2018 is the Year of the Young People.  We are looking to celebrate the involvement of all of our young people at Foster Care Connect and we need your ideas.  We have a few things that we have thought about but you are the experts so please get in touch.

Foster Care Connect see your wellbeing as being of huge importance.  Sometimes, life can be a little difficult but it is important to get help and support during those times.  Eventually you find things that work for you which you can use for the rest of your life! To get you started, you may wish to have a look at the Self-help guide for Young People.  There are lots of top tips, places to seek advice and an explanation of some of the things that you may be experiencing.  Another great resource is the ayemind website which helps to improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people by making better use of the Internet, social media and mobile technologies. You can also contact us directly and we would be happy to have a chat, either in person or through whichever route you feel comfortable with.

If you are a birth child whose mum and dad are fostering, we will have more information here for you soon. In the meantime, please get in touch with Lyn Stuart Black.
